Meet Shiva Basir
Dr. Shiva Basir is a board-certified pediatric dentist who believes that dentistry should be a fun and enjoyable experience for children. Her goal is to provide the highest quality care to her young patients in a gentle manner, while ensuring good oral health and the optimal growth and development of the airways and jaws, with an awareness of their relationship to whole-body wellness.
Dr. Shiva graduated from Columbia University with a Doctorate in Dental Surgery. She completed her postdoctoral education in general practice at the New York Methodist Presbyterian Hospital in the charming neighborhood of Park Slope in Brooklyn. While practicing as a general dentist, she discovered her joy and natural ability to work with children, prompting her to pursue further education in Pediatric Dentistry. She received an additional two years of postdoctoral training, specializing in pediatric dentistry, at Saint Joseph’s Regional Hospital in Paterson, NJ.
Dr. Basir is a Diplomat of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, a member of American Association of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD), American Dental Association (ADA), New York State Dental Association (NYSDA), New York County Dental Association and International Academy of Biological Dentistry and Medicine (IABDM).

Comprehensive Exam
During your first visit, we’ll thoroughly assess your teeth and gums to give you all the information you need about the state of your dental health. We offer a comfortable approach to dentistry and will ensure you feel confident in our practice.
Standard Cleaning
During your first visit, we’ll thoroughly assess your teeth and gums to give you all the information you need about the state of your dental health. We offer a comfortable approach to dentistry and will ensure you feel confident in our practice.
Necessary X-Rays
For our $275 New Patient Special, necessary X-rays are included with your first visit. These X-rays allow us to detect issues that aren’t visible during a regular exam and give you a complete picture of your oral health.
For baby visits ($200), X-rays are not included. At this age, we only take X-rays if needed.

Will There Be Any Additional Costs at My First Visit?
No! There will be no additional cost associated with your first exam, cleaning, and x-rays! If we notice any dental health issues during your appointment, Dr. Shiva Basir will address them and develop a treatment plan that works for your needs and your budget.
What Happens After My First Visit?
If Dr. Shiva Basir doesn’t find any dental health issues during your appointment, we will simply schedule your next preventive visit in six months! If we notice any cavities or other issues throughout your exam or in your x-rays, we will address them with respect and compassion, and offer you honest advice about your treatment options. We’ll give you time and space to make the best choice for your dental health, and we will schedule any follow-up appointments for treatment at a pace that works for you!
